Chilled weekend evening routine

I don’t know about you guys but I find it so hard to pamper myself and have a nice chilled out evening. This is mainly due to me working all the time and if I’m doing all day, I don’t get back until 9pm. I don’t know about you, but by that time I want to be in my pjs and getting into my warm bed. This tends to mean that I don’t pamper and have time for myself. When I have the rare weekend or night off (If I’m not too tired) I like to try and follow this evening routine.

The first thing I like to do is run myself a boiling hot shower. In my house we don’t have a bath so a shower has to do. I tend to have the temperature to where it nearly scolds your skin and makes you feel faint after a while. Not everybody likes this, Jack constantly moans at how hot I have the water but I love it. I normally have my speaker with me and play my music from my phone into it. This means I can leave my phone in my bedroom but still listen to some music. The speaker is also just outside the door to prevent water damage.

The shampoo and conditioner that I use.

One of my favourite things to do is wash my hair. Having clean hair just makes me feel so clean. I have a tendency, when I have a depressive episode, to neglect myself which includes not washing/brushing my hair for days on end. This is why when I’m in an ok place I really cherish and enjoy washing my hair. I currently have blonde ombre so I use the Touch of Silver Intensive Shampoo and Conditioner. This really helps to create an ashy blonde look which is what I’m definitely trying to achieve. I got both of these from B&M because I’m a cheapskate and begrudge paying drugstore prices when I can get them for a fraction of the price somewhere else. I usually leave these on whilst I shave my legs etc.

The Body Shop face wash that I use.

I also wash my face in the shower to save myself some time. I’m lazy and don’t have enough time in my day to do everything I need to. I’m still using my Body Shop Tea Tree Face Wash. This is really cooling and helping to calm down my very red and angry face.

The facemask that I am using at the moment.

When I’m having a chilled evening I also like to do a nice facemask. I’ve got the trio L’oreal facemasks but today I’m using the Pure Detox one. This really helps to clean all the dirt out of my pores and is especially effective when all my pores are opened because  of the hot water. Once this has all dried down, I just use a wet face cloth to wash all of it off. After this I usually get into my comfy PJ’s and do my skincare routine.

Here’s a blurry picture of me with my facemark and my Winnie the Pooh hoodie that I brought from Primark.

If you guys would like to see a skincare routine, let me know!

Lots of love,
